Lip gloss is so popular among teens that female rapper Lil’ Mama even decided to cash in the famous beauty product with her song of the same name. Primarily used give lips a glossy tinge; they come in both liquid and soft solid form. Lip gloss comes in a variety of flavor (cherry, mint), shade and opacity (which includes frosted, glittered or metallic). Usually its packaging is a small cylindrical bottle with a wand applicator called doe foot, a small tube that is designed to be spread by the fingertips or boxes that may confuse people between lip gloss and lip balm. People, moreover with teens, use lip gloss not only because it’s great for chapped lips but also because it does not have the intense lip color that comes with using lip sticks. Parents who are concerned with their pre teen’s make up usually prefer for them to use lip gloss brands like Lip Smackers to promote youthfulness and femininity as well. Although lip gloss may be predominantly used by girls under 18, it does not mean those older don’t. Cosmetic companies have made it a point to create different lip gloss packaging for different age groups to accommodate a larger market.
